Regional Air Pollution Transport Assessment

Eco Qatar has the technical expertise to support a policy dialogue and decisions addressing the issue of trans-boundary air pollution transport in the Gulf region {Potential proponents are the national environmental regulatory authorities of the GCC region, Qatar and the GCC Secretariat}.

The objectives of the dialogue are to:

  • Observe and assess systematically the sources and magnitude of trans-boundary pollution transport from anthropogenic sources.
  • Build and strengthen the capability of the Gulf States in the field of air quality monitoring, modeling and assessment.
  • Develop capabilities to assess and mitigate trans-boundary air pollution emissions due to industrial, nuclear accidents and natural disasters.
  • Adoption of a regional convention on trans-boundary air pollution transport.
